Tri-Series Takes Shape

Qld to Contest Tri-Series in Sydney

This years Interstate Challenge between Qld and NSW has turned into a Tri-Series, with the inclusion of the Australian Police Affiliated States side, made up of Police officers from WA, Vic, NT and the AFP. 

The recent Annual General Meeting of the national body "Police Rugby League Australia" saw the coming together of all state organisations with unanymous support for the Tri-Series concept.

The Tri-Series will kick off between Qld and NSW at Shark Park on Saturday the 2nd of August 2008 as a curtain raiser to the Cronulla Sharks v St George-Illawarra Dragons NRL match, followed by Qld v Affiliated States on Sunday the 3rd August and NSW v Affiliated States on Monday the 4th August, at venues to be decided.  The Tri-Series will be the selection trial for the Australian Squad to be chosen to contest the Inaugural Police Rugby League World Cup being held at Stockland Park, Kawana, Qld in November and will be the first time all Police Officers throughout Australia will undergo a full selection trial for an Australian Police Squad.
